Breaking: I am the star of my team, and I cannot play without you.
Cormac Ryan has been extremely busy as the NBA Draft draws near. Although he isn’t regarded as a first-round pick, the former UNC basketball star is attempting to make an NBA roster this summer. It is plausible that an NBA team might consider taking a chance on him, if only to have him join them for a little NBA Summer League play, given what he has to offer. Ryan worked out in preparation for the draft on Monday with the Boston Celtics, who won the Eastern Conference.
It’s likely that you’ve seen that Ryan hasn’t been shy about sharing his pre-draft workout excursions on social media, especially Instagram. Ryan worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers last week. In the process, he worked out for a few other clubs.Ryan is a terrific three-point shooter, which makes him a compelling prospect in a league where teams are constantly searching for players with above-average shooting ability. In addition to his deep shooting prowess, Ryan is a hard-working player who can lead both on and off the court, provide energy, and act as a lockdown defender.
Ryan only spent a year as a Tar Heel, but in that year, he had a significant impact on the UNC basketball team. Ryan immediately gained popularity among Tar Heel supporters after making clutch shots against rival Duke and standing atop the team bus after the ACC regular season title victory against the Blue Devils. His influence was evident throughout the 2023–2024 campaign. Like his old teammate Armando Bacot, Ryan is currently searching for a place in the professional ranks. Who knows? Perhaps an NBA team will decide to take a risk on them both and bring them back together in the professional ranks, or perhaps all we can do is hope to see them both.
