OMAHA-BOUND HOGS: ARKANSAS BASEBALL SET TO COLLIDE WITH LSU IN COLLEGE WORLD SERIES OPENER

Tonight, the Razorbacks open their 2025 College World Series campaign against none other than a fierce SEC rival — the LSU Tigers. This marquee matchup has all the makings of a classic, as two powerhouses of college baseball collide under the bright lights at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Razorbacks, affectionately known as the “OmaHogs,” punched their ticket to the College World Series after a dominant run through the NCAA Super Regionals, dismantling their opponents with clutch hitting, elite pitching, and sheer resilience. Led by head coach Dave Van Horn, Arkansas returns to Omaha hungry for redemption and focused on bringing home the program’s first national title.

Arkansas’s road to Omaha wasn’t without its challenges. The Hogs battled through a brutally competitive SEC schedule, navigated key injuries, and fought tooth and nail in one of the toughest Super Regional brackets. Yet time and time again, this team proved its mettle.

Sparked by breakout stars and seasoned veterans, the Razorbacks have delivered one of their most complete seasons in recent memory. Junior ace Graham Campbell, who leads the staff with a blistering 1.94 ERA, has become a nightmare for opposing hitters. At the plate, sophomore slugger Eli Jameson has carried the offense, belting 19 home runs and driving in over 60 RBIs this season.

Arkansas and LSU have already clashed this season in conference play, splitting a hard-fought series. Now, with national championship dreams on the line, their rivalry takes center stage on the sport’s grandest stage.

LSU enters the CWS as a formidable foe, boasting one of the most feared lineups in the country, headlined by junior All-American shortstop Cade Johnson and power-hitting outfielder Mason Broussard. On the mound, LSU will likely send ace left-hander Trey Dupree, who struck out 12 in his last outing.

But Arkansas isn’t intimidated. The Hogs have proven they can play with — and beat — anyone. Their lineup is deep and disciplined, their bullpen battle-tested, and their confidence soaring.

Perhaps what separates this Arkansas team from years past is its momentum and chemistry. They enter Omaha riding a six-game postseason win streak, during which they’ve outscored opponents by a combined margin of 42–18.

Key contributions have come from unexpected places. Freshman infielder Matt Sutton has turned heads with timely hits and impressive defense, while senior closer Jaxon Morgan has slammed the door shut in multiple high-leverage situations.

Arkansas fans have seen their team get close before. Heartbreak in 2018’s final, a semifinal exit in 2021, and last year’s narrow Super Regional loss have only fueled the fire. For this year’s squad, it’s not just about reaching Omaha — it’s about finishing the job.

The Razorbacks aren’t just representing Fayetteville — they’re carrying the pride of an entire state. With the “OmaHogs” nickname echoing through the stands and a sea of cardinal red filling Omaha, the stage is set for a postseason run to remember.
