UGA Trio Earns All-American Honors as Bulldogs Prepare for Super Regionals Showdown

As the Georgia Bulldogs baseball team surges toward one of its most anticipated postseason campaigns in recent memory, three standout players—Charlie Condon, Kolten Smith, and Corey Collins—have been recognized for their exceptional performances. However, this time, it’s pitcher Leighton Zaborowski, infielder Slate Alford, and outfielder Tre Phelps Burnett who have stepped into the national spotlight, each earning prestigious All-American honors. Their accolades serve as a powerful testament to Georgia’s depth, discipline, and determination heading into the NCAA Super Regionals.

Zaborowski, Burnett, and Alford have been critical to Georgia’s strong campaign this season. As the Bulldogs get set to clash with a formidable opponent in the Super Regionals, the individual accolades these three earned underscore just how well-rounded this squad has become.

Leighton Zaborowski, a junior right-handed pitcher, has turned heads all season long with his command, poise, and ferocity on the mound. Zaborowski boasts a 9–2 record with a sparkling 2.86 ERA, along with 112 strikeouts in just over 90 innings pitched. His consistency has anchored Georgia’s rotation, and his performance earned him a Second-Team All-American nod by Collegiate Baseball and D1Baseball. He’s been an unshakable presence in high-leverage moments, a trait that will be crucial as Georgia faces the pressure-packed Super Regionals.

Outfielder Tre Phelps Burnett delivered one of the most dynamic offensive seasons in the SEC. The senior slasher hit .371 on the season with 18 home runs, 62 RBIs, and a staggering .467 on-base percentage. Burnett’s blend of speed, contact hitting, and power has made him a nightmare for opposing pitchers. His all-around play earned him First-Team All-American status, solidifying his status as one of college baseball’s elite outfielders.

Rounding out the trio, Slate Alford, a transfer from Mississippi State, has found a home in Athens and made an immediate impact. The power-hitting infielder blasted 21 home runs, slugged .660, and tallied 65 RBIs on the year, playing an integral role in Georgia’s offensive firepower. Alford’s ability to change a game with one swing earned him Third-Team All-American honors, making him one of the most impactful newcomers in the country.

Georgia’s All-American trio represents the heart of a team that has redefined itself in 2025. Under the guidance of head coach Wes Johnson, the Bulldogs have cultivated a roster rich in both experience and young talent. Johnson, in his second season at the helm, has emphasized a culture of resilience, aggressive play, and mental toughness—values perfectly embodied by Zaborowski, Burnett, and Alford.

While individual accolades are being celebrated, the entire team remains focused on the ultimate goal: a trip to Omaha and a shot at a national title. Georgia’s offense ranks among the most lethal in the country, averaging over 7 runs per game. Their pitching staff, once considered a vulnerability, has evolved into a consistent, battle-tested group—largely thanks to leaders like Zaborowski.

The Bulldogs’ journey hasn’t been without its tests. From weathering a brutal SEC schedule to bouncing back from a late-season stumble, Georgia’s path to the Super Regionals has been forged through grit and execution. Now, with stars like Burnett setting the tone at the plate, Alford delivering clutch homers, and Zaborowski shutting down elite hitters, the Bulldogs are hitting their stride at the perfect time.

Georgia is set to host the NCAA Super Regionals in Athens, where they will face off against a tough opponent with Omaha dreams of their own. But this isn’t just any Georgia squad—it’s one built on star power, leadership, and timely production.

The atmosphere at Foley Field promises to be electric. Fans, already buzzing from a thrilling regional sweep, will have their eyes on Burnett’s thunderous bat, Zaborowski’s precision on the mound, and Alford’s game-changing presence in the infield. More than individual stats, though, it’s the Bulldogs’ collective momentum that feels unstoppable.
