BREAKING: Razorbacks Crush Creighton 8-3 to Storm Into NCAA Super Regionals

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Razorbacks are headed to the NCAA Super Regionals after a commanding 8-3 victory over the Creighton Bluejays on Sunday night. Behind a relentless offensive performance and a lockdown bullpen, the Razorbacks silenced any doubts about their postseason readiness with a performance brimming with fire, focus, and purpose at Baum-Walker Stadium.

This marks Arkansas’s fifth Super Regional appearance in the last seven seasons under head coach Dave Van Horn, a testament to the program’s consistency and elite preparation when the stakes are at their highest. Razorback Nation packed the stands, and the team delivered a show worthy of the raucous support.

The Hogs didn’t waste time asserting themselves. In the bottom of the first inning, senior outfielder Jared Wegner launched a two-run homer into the left-field bullpen, electrifying the crowd and immediately putting the Razorbacks up 2-0. That early jolt set the tone for a team that came in hungry, focused, and unafraid of the moment.

Creighton would respond in the third inning, cutting the lead to 2-1 with a solo shot by catcher Alan Roden. But that would be as close as the Bluejays got.

Arkansas answered right back in the bottom half of the third with a three-run outburst. Peyton Stovall’s RBI double, followed by a pair of RBI singles from Caleb Cali and Kendall Diggs, widened the margin to 5-1, swinging the momentum firmly back into the Hogs’ dugout.

Freshman left-hander Mason Molina got the starting nod for Arkansas and delivered a gritty performance over five innings. He allowed just two runs while striking out seven, constantly working out of trouble with poise beyond his years.

Mason gave us everything we needed,” said Van Horn. “He competed on every pitch, and that’s what postseason baseball is all about.”

The bullpen took over from there and did not disappoint. Brady Tygart tossed two shutout innings with three strikeouts, and closer Gage Wood slammed the door shut with a dominant ninth, securing the win and punching the Razorbacks’ ticket to the next round.

Creighton managed to plate another run in the seventh, but Arkansas had already put the game out of reach with two more insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings, including a majestic solo shot from catcher Hudson Polk.

The win was defined by balance. Seven different Razorbacks recorded a hit, and five different players drove in at least one run. It was the kind of depth and unselfish execution that makes Arkansas so dangerous in the postseason.

Creighton, despite a strong regional showing overall, simply couldn’t keep up with the intensity and execution Arkansas brought to the table. The Bluejays finish their season with heads held high but ultimately fell victim to a team with eyes firmly set on Omaha.

With the win, Arkansas secures its spot in the NCAA Super Regionals, where they’ll face a tough opponent yet to be determined. But one thing is clear: the Razorbacks are playing with purpose, passion, and postseason polish.

Baum-Walker Stadium was buzzing from the first pitch to the last, and the crowd’s energy seemed to fuel every swing and every out. The Hogs fed off the momentum and showed once again why they’re among the nation’s elite programs.

The Razorbacks didn’t just beat Creighton — they sent a message. This team is deep, battle-tested, and built for June baseball. With a combination of power hitting, disciplined at-bats, and dependable pitching, Arkansas looks every bit the part of a national contender.
