Luca doncic tie wilt Chamberlain,James harden in NBA record book

The Dallas Mavericks secured a commanding 137-101 victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday night, extending their winning streak to six games. Luka Dončić delivered an outstanding performance, recording his first triple-double of the season with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in just 32 minutes. This marked the 78th triple-double of his career, tying him with James Harden and Wilt Chamberlain for seventh place in NBA history. Dončić now trails only his head coach, Jason Kidd, who ranks sixth with 107 triple-doubles.

The Mavericks’ success this season reflects the depth of their roster, the strongest Dončić has played with since entering the league. This improved support has reduced Dončić’s workload, lowering his usage rate to its lowest since his rookie year. Despite this, his impact remains undeniable, as he continues to deliver key performances after recovering from a wrist strain.

While Dončić managed 21 triple-doubles in 70 games last season, his current role allows him to focus on efficiency rather than carrying the team. Meanwhile, Harden, now with the LA Clippers, has seen his triple-double tally slow, recording just eight since the start of the 2022-23 season.

Dončić’s milestone places him among NBA legends, and although he may not surpass Kidd’s record this season, his trajectory makes it likely he will overtake his coach in the near future.
